Roofing Website Brief Builder

Sixteen quick questions. One written project plan. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to share it.

Short answer

The Brief Builder turns sixteen questions about your roofing business into a written website plan with suggested next steps. It runs entirely in your browser, needs no account and does not send your answers to us. You can download or copy the plan and share it with any designer, including us.

Build your plan

The interactive builder needs JavaScript. If it is switched off, copy these sixteen questions into an email or a note and answer them there. You will end up with the same plan.

  1. Business name
  2. Where the business is based
  3. Service area
  4. Work you want more of
  5. Main customers
  6. Current website, if any
  7. Main goal for the new site
  8. How customers should reach you
  9. License or registration numbers to display
  10. Do you do insurance or storm work?
  11. Do you offer financing?
  12. Do you have project photos?
  13. Where your reviews live
  14. Pages you think you need
  15. When you want to launch
  16. Budget range

What the plan covers

The plan collects the facts any designer needs before quoting a roofing website: what you do, where you work, who your customers are, what you want the site to achieve and what material you already have. It then adds a few suggested next steps based on your answers. For example, if you do insurance work, it reminds you to check claim-related wording against your state's rules. If you offer financing, it flags the disclosure rules that apply when ads mention payment terms.

Why a written brief helps

Most website projects that go wrong do so at the start, when nobody wrote down what was included. A short written brief:

  • Makes quotes from different designers comparable, because they are pricing the same thing
  • Shows gaps early, such as missing photos or license details
  • Keeps your team aligned on the goal
  • Gives you a record to check the finished site against

Your privacy

The builder is a small script that runs on this page. Your answers stay in your browser while you use it and disappear when you close the tab. We do not store them, track them or send them to a server. If you want our help, use the "Send it to us" button, which takes you to the contact page, where you can paste the plan into a message.

Tips for useful answers

  1. Be specific about the work you want more of. "Residential replacement in the north suburbs" is more useful than "roofing".
  2. List areas you would happily drive to next week, not every town in the county.
  3. Write license numbers exactly as issued, with the state for each. Some states require the number in advertising, which includes websites. See the license display guide.
  4. Be honest about photos. "None yet" is fine. It just means the plan will include time to collect them.
  5. A budget range helps. It lets a designer suggest what fits rather than guess.
Is the Brief Builder really free?

Yes. There is no account, no email gate and no follow-up unless you contact us.

Do you see my answers?

No. The plan is created in your browser. We only see it if you choose to send it.

Can I use the plan with another designer?

Yes. It is a plain text file meant to be shared with whoever you hire.

What if I do not know some answers?

Leave them blank. The plan marks them as not answered so you can fill them in later.
